Student Senate

The TPA Student Senate is an established governing body of the Student Division of TPA. This group empowers student members to take an active role in shaping the future of TPA through leadership, advocacy, and collaboration.
What You’ll Do
As a Student Senator, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Partner and connect with peers across Texas
- Draft bylaws and pass resolutions
- Participate in advocacy and social justice initiatives
- Develop programming for the annual convention
- Gain valuable leadership and legislative experience
Your Impact
Student Senators will:
- Represent and amplify the voice of psychology students across Texas
- Champion social justice efforts at the state level
- Collaborate with fellow students to strengthen the psychology community
- Help shape the direction of TPA’s student division for years to come
What to Expect:
- Term Length: Two-year appointment (students nearing graduation are eligible to serve)
- Time Commitment: Approx. one-hour Zoom call per month (may vary depending on Legislative Sessions and Convention planning)
- Governance: Students will determine their own structure and processes
