Psychology Week
April 20–26, 2026
Psychology Week is a time to recognize the role psychologists play in protecting access to care, advancing evidence-based practice, and strengthening the health and well-being of Texans.
Across Texas, psychologists are navigating increasing demand for services, changes in reimbursement, evolving policy, and new models of care. The work happening in your practice, your research, and your training programs is shaping how care is delivered across the state.
That work does not happen in isolation. TPA represents psychology at the state level, advocating for the profession, protecting licensure standards, and ensuring psychologists have a voice when decisions are made that affect your work and the people you serve.
This week is an opportunity to reflect on that impact and the importance of a strong, collective voice for psychology in Texas.
As a sign of our appreciation for the important work you do, we're offering members this free webinar recording, Sleep is Your Superpower: Strategies to Master and Maximize the Benefits of Sleep.

Conference Call for Proposals Open
TPA’s Annual Conference brings psychologists across Texas into a shared conversation about what is working, what is changing, and what the profession needs next.
The Call for Proposals is now open for the 2026 conference. If you are adapting your practice, conducting research, training the next generation, or navigating changes in policy or care delivery, your perspective is relevant to the field.
Proposals are due May 15, 2026. Presenters must include at least one PsyD or PhD, and students may present with a doctoral-level sponsor. All presenters are required to register for the conference.
This is where psychologists exchange insight, strengthen the profession’s direction, and ensure that what is happening across individual settings informs the broader field.

Research Competition Applications Open
The Texas Psychological Foundation (TPF) is proud to provide a dedicated space for undergraduate and graduate students to present original research. TPA’s Research Competition provides a dedicated space for students and early career psychologists to present original research and contribute to the advancement of psychology in Texas.
Selected participants have the opportunity to present their work in connection with the Annual Conference, strengthening their CV and sharing their research with psychologists across practice settings, research areas, and career stages.
This initiative reflects TPA’s commitment to supporting the full pipeline of the profession, from training through practice, and ensuring research remains part of the broader professional conversation.

TPA’s Connected Community is where members continue these conversations between events.
Psychologists across Texas are using the platform to ask questions, share resources, and engage with peers in real time on topics ranging from practice management and reimbursement to training, licensure, and emerging trends in the field.
There are active communities across areas such as Business of Practice, Students, Military, and Neuropsychology, along with many others based on specialty and interest.
